Seminars of the Master Jeffrey Yuen – 2018
The 2018 Xin Shu Seminars delivered by the Daoist Priest Master Jeffrey Yuen, on Qi Gong and Classic Chinese Medicine.
Centro Studi Xin Shu organizes the annual Seminars of the Master Jeffrey Yuen.
The 2018 Seminars will take place in Rome (Italy), May 25-27, with the following programme.
Friday May 25, 2018 – 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Dao is meditation works on the “Three Treasures” and envisages a process that transforms Jing into Qi and then Shen. The process consists of passing from a layer of dense and corrosive material (such as Jing, or lead or cinnabar) to a precious matter, Shen, through the activation of Qi.
In particular, the Daoist Shan Qing tradition, from which Master Jeffrey Yuen comes, contemplates various meditation techniques that allow the body to open to warmth (from Jing to Qi and Shen). The various forms of meditation help to achieve a state of quiet and relaxation to regularize and harmonize our instances in order to reach a state of health and understanding of what we are authentically. The purpose is to “sit down and look for that empty space where you can get in touch with yourself”.
Saturday May 26, 2018 – 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
“The Study of the points of the meridian Zu Yang Ming: Stomach”
The class will develop the study of Zu Yang Ming (ST) meridian, deepening the meaning of the points in Classical Chinese Medicine with references to the use of the points in the most modern Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Master Jeffrey Yuen will make particular reference to the energetic function of the various points, to the possible combinations and useful therapeutic strategies in the clinical practice.
Sunday May 27, 2018 – 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
“The Way of Healing according to the Classics: Sun Si Miao teachings – Part 2”
Sun Si Miao (581-682 CE. Sui and Tang dynasty) belonged to the Yu Qing Huang Lao Pai (Jade Purity Yellow Emperor Lao Tzi School), as Master Jeffrey Yuen (88th generation). Sun Si Miao was a famous Chinese medicine doctor in the Daoist tradition. He is a major reference for his significant contribution to medicine and tremendous care given his patients. He wrote two books that were both milestones in the history of Classical Chinese medicine: Beiji Qian Jin Yao Fang (“Essential Formulas for Emergencies a Thousand Ducats of Gold Worth”) and Qian Jin Yi Fang (Supplement to the Essential Formulas Use Worth a Thousand Ducats of Gold). The former listed 5300 recipes for medicines, and the latter 2571.
Sun Si Miao gives precise indications to “self-cultivation” in his medical ethics:
- Be present to what you are doing
- Listen to the patient
- Keep contact with the divine through silence and meditation
Furthermore, Sun Si Miao believes that the alchemical transformation will improve life, and that changing oneself will modify illness.
